Putin watches Russian forces in Vostok war-games with 250,000 fewer troops
Russian President Vladimir Putin is pictured next to his defence chiefs overseeing their week-long Vostok war games.
He is shown smiling at the controls but just 50,000 Russian troops are said to be taking part in the Kremlin’s international show of strength – a sixth of the 300,000 that drilled alongside China and Mongolia four years ago.
