  1. I was hoping for more of an in game lore history not how the was made

  2. Hoping they make a ww1 total war game

  3. Could you please expand upon why CA broke away from EA? Seems like a huge lost opportunity in terms of drama and in terms of knowing the inner workings of a small production company.

  4. How I learned history when I was a kid: Playing Civilization, Assassin's Creed:, and Total War.

  5. WW1 would absolutely be viable, plz.

  6. Shogun II is such a great game. I really loved Rome too, the first one.

  7. This was a pretty good history of. I think you forgot some of the criticisms of Rome II due to it, but nevermind.

  8. Total War really needs to make a LOTR title

  9. They should either do another medieval title or another empire title

  10. Man, I just want LOTR to be total war, I miss the days of BFME2. I hope there's not another warhammer coming out.

  11. although the warhammer series clearly has made them lots of money, I think it just made CA a cash grab company like all others, those games a husks compaired to older games

  12. I think they can try to make a game about China (before the period of the 3 kingdoms) during the division of the six states. The six jurisdiction like qin, chu, han, wei, dai, and zhao. Could be interesting. Or more War Hammer 🙂 as that is always appreciated. Or WWI and WWII?

  13. How about Total War: Warhammer 40K?
    Give me those Astartes

  14. Weird the version of empire total war I have shows the British empire and the original 13 star flag of the United states

  15. Good video, but not enough ads. Think you could squeeze more mid-roll ads in?

  16. They should do an American Civil war Total War!!! That would be epic!!

  17. I think Total War needs to leave WarHammer alone for a bit and release another historical RTW for PS5… like COH 3 is doing!! Yes, a PC RTS is coming to console 😃 🎉

  18. rome 1 absolut masterpice ….. rome 2 it had potential the battles are fun but campaign is lacking a bit if you ask me I was a bit disappointed … i mean years later father a whole bunch of pathces the game finally became more enjobale but its still wish they added more stuff … medival was basically rome 1 just with different units … than atilla and empire 2 of my favorite games beside rome 1 … i actually hope they make empire 2 soon I think its finally time to get a sequel …

  19. At 9:30 I think you meant to say Holy Roman Empire (or Germany) instead of Russia

  20. why doesn't warhammer have naval battles

  21. TW Warhammer 40K The great crusade then followed by a Horus Heresy expansion.
Would have Imperial guard, Astartes, Mechanicum, and as many Xeno races as they want. Orks, Eldar for sure but also would like to see some of the other xeno races depicted in the novels. Then of corse all the traitor versions in the Heresy xpack.

Yeah I guess it would be 30k but whatever

  22. If anyone here is wanting a Medieval III, Total War: Atilla had a mod called 1212 AD that is basically just that

  23. This is a great documentry on the history of my favorite series. Well done. I still wish they would make Victorian Total War, with advances like smokeless gunpowder, and breach loading cannons.

  24. I want to see an epic Total War, covering a much longer timeline with a full world map.

  25. If you weren't a Warhammer fan before TWW you have no idea how crazy and exciting it was to see a real, official Total War Warhammer game announced. Warhammer mods for Medieval 2 and a few other Total War games were around but I never thought we'd get a real Warhammer collaboration. 7 years later and I can say the Total War Warhammer games are some of the best and most enjoyable games I've ever played. Exactly the games teenaged me would have killed for 15 years ago.

  26. My first Total War game was Medieval 1 back in 2004. I was in Iraq and brought a laptop exclusively for this game when we had some hours off back inside base. It was playing a war inside a war.

  27. I hope they stop warhammer and make historical there focus

  28. they need to do a modern war game around tanks and stuff.

  29. Rome Total War
    Medieval II

    are my favorites.

  30. Man… I wanted to pick up an RTS game but no idea where to start. I played LOTR BFME2 a lot as a kid and I have played the first part of the Starcraft 2 campaign years ago, but that's it.

All the games in the Total War series seem awesome; I'm not that much into sci-fi/futuristic stuff like Starcraft usually and although I admit it was fun, all the historical settings you touched on here seem great fun, as well as Warhammer because I do love medieval fantasy (know nothing about the Warhammer series itself though).

And aside from Total War there's Age of Empires and probably tons of other medieval and fantasy RTS games. I would love a fantasy game of vampires vs werewolves vs angels vs beastmen (etc), though warhammer does sound a bit different from that so maybe that doesn't even exist.

Idk where to start xD Anyone a recommendation for a relatively beginner friendly RTS thats rooted in some sort of historical or medieval fantasy setting, or what the first Total War game is I should try?

  31. Total War is the greatest RTS franchise we ever get. Fufill the dream of patricipating in battle we often see in movie

  32. Fantastic video! I've only ever played he original Total War: Rome, something I've re discovered recently, and am keen to explore the franchise. This was a great gateway into doing that!

  33. Three Kingdoms was my first ever TW title quickly followed by Warhammer 2. I've got to say, I am still flummoxed by how so many models can fit on my screen without it blowing up in my face. When Warhammer 3 came out, I cried. This studio has something really special and I will be keeping a close eye on their future titles. I hope they use Warhammer 3 as a testing grounds for new mechanics for their next games. One thing I would love to see is an updated version of their naval battles. I think I read somewhere they aren't allowed to have them for their Warhammer titles which is a shame, but I'd love me some naval battles. Perhaps a Pirates of the Carribean like title following mythical sea tales of piracy throughout the entire world. Just spit-balling. Either way, Im excited for what they make next.

  34. Rome 2 is still my favourite. A complete masterpiece. Although I also really enjoy the Warhammer series.

But I'm looking forward to Medieval 3.

  35. They should release a sci-fi Total War game that allows players to move spaceships in 3d space while also letting them conquer planets and move units across them.

  36. I wonder if I should try Thrones of Britannia, I have heard mixed reviews about it and I know the CA have completely abandoned the game. But should I give it a try?

  37. Total War: Middle Earth and Total War: Westeros will be epic

  38. I don't cheat Total War. That is bad. I played fair.

  39. The best game in the Total War franchise in my opinion was Rome 2, as it made it possible to command the artillery manually, and it had the largest number of factions, the worst was Atilla, where the cities did not have walls, which did not represent the reality of the time, and Britannia, which it had complicated mechanics and bad gameplay.

  40. This is an updated version from our 2018 History of Total War (you can tell because I look about a decade younger lmao).
But since they'd released so many new games, and I am so excited for Total War: Warhammer 3, there was much more history to talk about!

If you want to jump around the video to your favourite game, here are some time-stamps
